What does the term “Nuclear Energy” mean to you? Some people might think of a nuclear reactor generating electricity. Others might think of nuclear weapons. Maybe a few people will think of radioactivity, and how dangerous that could be. But what is it really, and where does it come from?
This talk by John Farquhar will aim to dispel the mystery surrounding “nuclear energy” and to explain how it is linked to radioactivity. If you’ve ever wondered about whether something in your home might be radioactive (for example, an old wristwatch with a luminous dial), please bring it along to the talk!
