From 6-7pm in the village hall (Lesser Hall) on 11 April, there will be a meeting about the recent changes to the 51 bus service. Which has ended the direct service from St Boswells to Edinburgh. Now villagers have to go to Newton, Earlston or further afield to access this service. This is the latest stage in a gradual deterioration in bus links from our village to the capital. Pre-pandemic, we had a 51 and a 52 service running direct to Edinburgh. The latter didn’t survive the pandemic, now the former has gone also.
IT IS IMPORTANT TO ATTEND, TO MAKE YOUR VIEWS KNOWN about this matter. Representatives from the SBC, Borders Buses and the Scottish Parliament, along with local councilors, shall be there to listen to you.
