The unveiling (on the 2nd June) of the village hall’s commemorative light for Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee was a wonderful occasion. The Duke of Buccleuch did the honours impressively, and then we repaired into the main hall to enjoy an excellent buffet, prepared by Allan Drummond along with several members of the hall’s management committee.
