A message from Friends of the Woodland:

The St Boswells Community Woodland sits to the south of the village, near the tennis courts. There is an abundance of trees, plants, wildlife and a pond in the centre. Paths wind their way through the trees and over bridges. Many people are not aware the woodlands exist but through this group and links with other community organisations we hope to raise awareness, encourage use and make it a space we can all enjoy.

The group aims to bring together the friends of the woodland. Those who make use of the woodland and those who may want to, those who want to be more involved and those who may just like to see what is going on locally.

It will allow us to share our experiences of the woodland and encourage our whole community across generations to come together and care for it, spend time in it, walk, play and imagine in it, build dens in it, learn skills in it, explore it and grow with it.

We will also use this forum to share information on meetings, group activities such as clearing fallen branches, path maintenance, tree planting and anything else that comes along such as planned workshops or events. There may be links to Woodland organisations and other local community groups. Post your ideas, share stories, get involved.

This group is part of a wider group, Green St Boswells, and linked with the St Boswells Community Council. The Woodland is owned by the Buccleuch Estate and will be managed by the community in partnership with them.
