New Floor, New Curtains

It’s been a long time since the last blog post, but anyone doing anything in St Boswells will not fail to notice that your refurbished Village Hall is being used more and more all the time. We are delighted to see it being used for almost all of the things it was prior to the major works, and have seen a number of new arrivals such as Scottish Slimmers, Gaelic Singing and various community groups. You can see how busy the Hall is by going to the new calendar, which we hope is proving useful.
The Village Hall Committee have not been content to stop at the basic refurbishment though; we always promised to make things look better than they did before, and so we have raised funds for and installed – courtesy of Pirn House Interiors – wonderful blinds and curtains on all the windows. We think they really set the hall off perfectly, and are very much looking forward to the matching stage curtain being installed before the year is out.
Not only that, we also have a new floor. The existing one had reached the end of its life, and so there was the option of removing it and replacing with very expensive wooden slats, or overlaying it with the very latest multi-purpose surface, which is meant to be resistant to just about everything normal use will throw at it. The Badminton Club love it, and its easy to clean surface is a real boon for the Toddlers Group.
There is still more to come so do watch this space, and keep enjoying your Village Hall.
