Renovation Update 5

Big openings taking place at your Village Hall this week, in more than one sense. We’ll put in some photos of the Main Hall ceiling later on, but it’s coming along amazingly – with the insulation almost all in place and decisions even being made over colour schemes (please contact us if you are keen to be part of the decorating work).

If you have been in St Boswells this week you would be hard-pressed to not notice the huge hole that has opened up in the side of the hall. This is because the new glass doors, part of the new specious entrance lobby, have to be accommodated, and the old doors were – to be honest – not user friendly. For a brief while we had our own Old Man of Hoy, albeit made of stone, and then it was gone. So, for the moment, the Great Wall of OSB provides security when the builders have gone home.

In other developments, drains are being dug to bring sewerage up to modern standards for the new toilets. Not the most glamorous thing in the world, but vital when a busy event is taking place, and providing many decades of happy use!

We really appreciate feedback, to please comment on this blog, or respond to the Facebook posts – we are creating a place for the whole community and would love you to be a part of it.
