Welcome to St Boswells Village Hall blog. We aim to bring you up-to-date news and views on what is happening in our village hall.
St Boswells Village Hall was built in 1896 by the people of St Boswells using donated land, donated materials and fundraising (they held bring and buy sales and a fancy dress bicycle gymkhana amongst other events). The Hall is owned by the community of St Boswells and is held in trust by a group of Trustees. This group was formed in the 1950s to ensure that the Hall would be properly managed and looked after. The Hall is managed by a group of volunteers – The Village Hall Committee. There are 11 of us in total. We have one member of staff – Mrs Pauline Mann who is our fabulous caretaker and cleaner.
There are a HUGE number of activities and events happen in the Hall, particularly during the winter months. From sports activities like badminton and short tennis to monthly music nights, concerts, our Soup Club, meetings, parties, the list goes on.
